Before Wagner: A 6-4 shooting guard from Conyers, GA, comes with a plethora of basketball experience. His father, Duane Ferrell, was an 11-year NBA veteran that played for the Atlanta Hawks (1988-89; 1990-94), Indiana Pacers (1994-97) and Golden State Warriors (1997-99). Connor averaged 11.0 ppg, 4.0 rpg and 3.0 apg at DME Sports Academy in Daytona Beach, FL. During his tenure at Rockdale County High School, the younger Ferrell excelled each and every season. In 2011-12, he was the lone freshman to play on the varsity level, while only averaging 8.0 points a contest. The following season, he upped his point production to 10.0 and grabbed 3.0 caroms a game. He scored a season-best 31 points. His junior season was where Connor started to put it all together, averaging 16.0 ppg, 3.0 rpg, and 5.0 apg. During the season, he netted a career-high 47 points and at year’s end, garnered All-Conference First Offensive Team and was named the MVP of the Christmas Classic. In 2014-15, his final year at Rockdale, Ferrell finished his high school career averaging 17.5 ppg, 4.0 rpg, and 4.0 apg, while helping the team advance to the Second Round of the GHSA Tournament.
