Before Wagner: A late get for the Seahawks as an open scholarship became available when senior forward Greg Senat (Elmont, NY/Elmont [Marianapolis Prep {CT}]) became a two-sport player and had his scholarship switched to the football side of the athletic department ledger. Francis led Westfield to a Virginia 6A state championship, defeating Oscar Smith, 74-56 to cap a senior season in which he averaged 20.1 points. The crafty, left-handed, guard posted 24 double-digit scoring performances while hitting the 20-point plateau 13 times last season. Also, he recorded four games of 25 points or more while going for a career-best 32 points, whicj included five three-pointers in an 80-63 victory over Battlefield on December 21. Over his three seasons at Westfield, Francis led the team to a combined 62-18 overall record (.775 win percentage) while posting a 27-8 conference mark (.771 win percentage). During his senior season, according to MaxPreps, Westfield was ranked the No. 6 team in Virginia... Graduated Westfield as the all-time leading scorer, 1,390 career points...  Recognized twice as All-State and All-Region and three times as an All-District performer ... Named to the Washington Post's prestigious 2015-16 All-Met Fourth Team team as a senior ... Participated in the 43rd Annual Capital Classic and the NOVA Challenge Classic, where he was named MVP ... Son of Carl and Wilhelmenia Francis... Has one sibling, Branden, who played football at Liberty University (2010-2013) ... His cousin, Tyler Thornton, played basketball at Duke University (2010-2014)...
