Before Wagner: Spent the 2025-26 season at New Orleans after playing the 2024-25 season at Three Rivers College and redshirting the 2023-24 season at Syracuse. At New Orleans, Patterson appeared in seven games. During his time at Three Rivers College, appeared in 25 games, making six starts for the Raiders. Averaged 6.4 points and 3.4 rebounds per game while shooting 66.3 percent from the field in 13.6 minutes per contest. Scored in double figures six times and recorded two double-digit rebounding performances.

A three-star prospect ranked by Rivals.com as the No. 33 center in the country and No. 10 prospect in New York. Played at Bishop Walsh High School, a Nike Elite program in Cumberland, Md., under head coach Dan Prete before following Prete to The Patrick School for his senior season. Received scholarship offers from Syracuse, Oklahoma State, Rutgers and TCU.
