STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The Wagner College field hockey team took down Patriot League member Lehigh by a score of 4-1 at the Field Hockey Complex on Sunday afternoon.
The Seahawks (2-6, 1-0 NEC) jumped out to an early 1-0 lead less than 70 seconds into the game off the stick of senior Felicitas Herrero-Martel. The Buenos Aires, Argentina native has now scored three goals in her last two games.
Herrero-Martel found sophomore Riahna Pollard who scored her first goal of the season early in the second quarter. The Mountain Hawks (1-6, 0-1 Patriot League) responded with a goal of their own one minute later, making it a 2-1 game.
Senior captain Victoria Bruno tapped in her first score of the season later in the period, with sophomore Julia de Leeuw finding Bruno to make it a 3-1 game into the half.
After a scoreless third, senior Natalie McGivern put away her second of the year to ensure the Seahawks' win, 4-1. For McGivern, the West Deptford, New Jersey native has scored three goals in her last two outings against Lehigh. McGivern scored both goals in Wagner's 2-0 win over the Mountain Hawks during the 2025 season.
As a team, Wagner attempted 32 shots with 20 on target while limiting Lehigh to five shots with two on cage. The Seahawks took 15 corners compared to the Mountain Hawks' three.
In the cage, freshman Miley Brezgel and senior Mia DiGenova split duties. Brezgel earned her first win as a Seahawk with one save.
