This Week in Wagner Athletics; 11 Teams in Action as Tennis Teams Get Set for NEC Championships; Women’s Water Polo Preps For NCAA Championships

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Here is a look at the Wagner Athletics events for this week. 

 

Baseball 

- The Seahawks head to West Point, New York for a midweek game at Army on Tuesday, April 14. First pitch is scheduled for 3:35 p.m.

- For the weekend, Wagner has a road series at Stonehill, beginning Friday, April 17 at 3 p.m.

 

Men's Lacrosse 

- Wagner travels to VMI for a matchup set for Saturday, April 18.

- Start time between the Seahawks and the Keydets is scheduled for noon on Drill Field #2. 


Men's Golf

- The Seahawks are traveling to Glen Cove, NY, to compete in the 2-days match Shark Invitational at Nassau Country Club, Monday April 13 and Tuesday April 14.

 

Men's Tennis

- The Seahawks will compete in the NEC Tennis Championships starting on Thursday, April 16. 

- Wagner's seed will be announced at a later date.

 

Men's Track & Field

- Wagner splits its time this weekend, heading to Lawrenceville, New Jersey on Saturday, April 18 for the Rider Invitational. 

- Also beginning Saturday are the IC4A/ECAC Championships, held at Rutgers' Bauer Track & Field Complex in Piscataway, New Jersey. The two-day meet will wrap up on Sunday, April 19.

 

Softball 

- Wagner softball will take a road trip to Jersey City and face off against St. Peter's for a doubleheader on Tuesday, April 14. 

- The first game will start at 1 p.m., while the second game will start at approximately 3 p.m.

 

Women's Golf 

- The Seahawks are traveling to their NEC Championship this week, happening from Thursday, April 16, to Sunday, April 19. 

- The Championship will take place in Ellicott City, MD at the Turf Valley Resort.

 

Women's Lacrosse  

- Wagner heads to our nation's capital for a matchup set for Saturday, April 18 against Howard. 

- Start time between the Seahawks and the Bison is scheduled for noon. 

 

Women's Tennis

- The Seahawks will compete in the NEC Tennis Championships starting on Thursday, April 16. 

- Wagner's seed will be announced at a later date.

 

Women's Track & Field

- Wagner returns to Piscataway, New Jersey on Saturday, April 18 for the IC4A/ECAC Championships, held at Rutgers' Bauer Track & Field Complex. The two-day meet will conclude on Sunday, April 19.

- The Seahawks compete in the Rider Invitational on Saturday, April 18, held at the Michael P. Brady Track & Field Complex. 

 

Women's Water Polo  

- With the win, Wagner secures the MAAC Championship and earns the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Seahawks will learn their matchup during the NCAA Selection Show on Monday, April 13 at 8 p.m. ET on NCAA.com.

 

- This year's NCAA Tournament will take place in La Jolla, Calif., hosted by UC San Diego. The opening round is set for Wednesday, April 22, with the championship game scheduled for Sunday, April 26.
