Former Seahawk Quarterback Nick Doscher ’12 Inducted into Staten Island Sports Hall of Fame

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Former Seahawk standout quarterback Nick Doscher '12 was recently inducted into the Staten Island Sports Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2025.

A Staten Island native, Doscher starred at Moore Catholic, leading the football program to a CHSFL Class A championship while also helping the baseball team capture three CHSAA Island titles and a city crown. He was named the 2004 Al Fabbri Award winner as the Island's top high school football player.

Doscher was selected by the Kansas City Royals in the eighth round of the 2005 MLB Draft and spent four seasons in Minor League Baseball as a catcher.

He returned to Staten Island in 2009 to join the Wagner football program, earning NEC Offensive Rookie of the Year honors along with First Team All-NEC recognition. Doscher also collected five NEC Rookie of the Week awards after completing 103-of-178 passes (57.9%) for 1,330 yards, eight touchdowns, and nine interceptions, while leading the team with 769 rushing yards — a program record for a quarterback.

By his senior season in 2012, Doscher led the Seahawks to an NEC title and the program's first FCS playoff victory. He concluded his career as Wagner's all-time leader in total offense.
