Angus Snow Earns NEC Defensive Player of the Week Honor

BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — Wagner College men's lacrosse senior goalkeeper Angus Snow has been named the NEC Defensive Player of the Week following a 17-save outing at Hampton, announced by the conference on Monday.

Against the Pirates, Snow saved 17 of Hampton's 23 shots on target, facing a total of 30 shots, and allowed a career-low six goals. The Victoria, British Columbia native collected one ground ball in Wagner's 14-6 win. Snow saved 73.9% of the Pirates' shots on target.

For Snow, 17 saves ranks as his second-most in one game as a Seahawk. Snow saved 18 shots in Wagner's overtime win against LIU last season.

During this year, Snow has recorded 55 saves with a save percentage of 50.5% across 255 minutes in net.

Before Snow, the last Seahawk to win a conference Defensive Player of the Week honor was Danny Brady's MAAC Defensive Player of the Week nod on Feb. 27, 2023.

Recently, freshman attacker Dylan Popehn received the conference's Rookie of the Week. Two weeks ago against Monmouth and UMass Lowell, Popehn scored three goals, adding one assist, two ground balls, and caused one turnover.

Next up, Snow and the rest of the Seahawks welcome America East member NJIT to Hameline Field for a 1 p.m. start on Saturday, March 7.
