INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Junior sabrist
Flavio Vinci has earned a spot in the 2026 NC Fencing Championships, the NCAA announced on Tuesday. This will be Vinci's third straight appearance in the NC Fencing Championships.
Vinci finished the regular season ranked 2nd in the entire Mid-Atlantic/South region in men's sabre category. Individually, he finished with 49 bout wins in the regular season, the most of any fencer at Wagner this year, and reached the semifinals of the NCAA Regionals in Haverford.
Vinci finished in the top-20 of all men's sabrists at last year's NC Fencing Championships.
Additionally, the United States Fencing Coaches Association announced on Monday, March 9, that senior sabrist
Fanny Straub was named to the All-Region team in the Mid-Atlantic/South region.
After finishing the regular season 24-25, Straub showed out at the regionals, winning 13 bouts and earning a spot in the final round. Her 11th-place finish became the highest finish in Wagner women's fencing history.
The men's fencing national championships will take place from Saturday, March 21, to Sunday March, 22 at the Joyce Center in South Bend, IN.
