Four Seahawks Named Preseason All-NEC by Perfect Game

SANFORD, Fla. — Senior pitcher Colin Trizuto, graduate outfielder Lukas Torres and infielders sophomore Matt Sutera and senior Nicholas Mazzotta have been selected to Perfect Game's preseason All-NEC team.

Wagner's four selections are an increase from last season's two, when graduate catcher Xavier Ulrich and senior first baseman Mateo Matthews. Both were big performer's on the way to the Seahawks' 31-22 2025 season where the team ultimately finished third in the NEC Tournament.

Trizuto is a returner for the Seahawks who was a steady arm in the weekend rotation, bringing over 60 innings of work from last season to the 2026 team. He logged 61.2 total innings of work across 15 outings and 15 starts in 2025, allowing 43 runs and striking out 41 to finish with a 4.96 ERA.

Torres, back for a sixth year with Wagner, is a veteran presence in the outfield who can always be counted on making an impact in the batters' box. Torres was an All-NEC second team selection last season and earned a spot on the All-Tournament team in the Seahawks' three games. He battted .351 in 2025 with a .910 OPS and 41 RBIs in 51 games started.

Sutera, heading into his sophomore season after being the only freshman in the batting order last season, put up a .302 batting average in his rookie season, starting 48 games with 49 hits, including 15 doubles. He was an All-NEC second team selection for the Seahawks in 2025.

Mazzotta earns the All-NEC nod as an infielder, but was a two-way player making an impact all across the field for Wagner. Playing in the middle infield and serving as an electric bullpen reliever, Mazzotta posted a .335 batting average and finished with 13 strikeouts on the mound with three saves.

Perfect Game lists Mazzotta as their No. 7 2026 MLB Draft prospect coming out of the NEC, with junior Joseph Mennella sitting at No. 15. For the 2027 class, Perfect Game lists Sutera as their No. 3 prospect.

The Seahawks open their season on Friday, Feb. 13 at Virginia. Game one will begin at 3 p.m. EST, airing on the ACC Network+.
