ORLANDO, Fla. — The Orlando Magic have signed former Wagner standout Alex Morales to a two-way contract, President of Basketball Operations Jeff Weltman announced Tuesday.
Morales has played and started in 18 regular-season games this season with the Osceola Magic of the NBA G League, averaging 19.2 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 2.2 steals in 35.6 minutes per game while shooting 52.8 percent from the field, 41.3 percent from three-point range, and 83.3 percent from the free-throw line.
Undrafted by an NBA franchise, Morales has appeared in 112 career NBA G League regular-season games (59 starts), all with Osceola (previously Lakeland), averaging 10.2 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.6 steals in 27.4 minutes per game while shooting 51.4 percent from the floor.
Morales appeared in 74 career games (71 starts) over three seasons at Wagner from 2019–22, averaging 15.9 points, 6.9 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.5 steals in 33.1 minutes per contest. He was named the Northeast Conference Player of the Year in both 2020–21 and 2021–22, and earned NEC Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2021–22.
