STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The Wagner College women's lacrosse team will begin its 2026 campaign against CAA member Drexel at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11 on Vidas Field.
Head Coach Kelly McPartland embarks on her fifth season at the helm of the Seahawks. Last season, McPartland and the Seahawks went 8-9, 8-1 NEC, earning a share of the regular season crown for the third time in the program's 28-year history. With a conference win percentage of 88.9%, Wagner set a new program record in the category.
The Seahawks return one All-NEC Second Team member in defender Erin Rooney. Last season, Rooney collected a team-high 31 ground balls, 17 caused turnovers, and two draw controls.
During this past offseason, Wagner added 11 newcomers — freshmen Breanne Tavares, Jocelyn Sponzo, Harper Thompson, Meghan Norko, Avery White, Gemma Dutcher, Isabella Odland, Maia LiSanti, sophomore Gabby Vasquez, junior Carolyne Chase, and senior Shea Saracino — and returned a total of 16 Seahawks from the 2025 roster.
In late January, Coach McPartland announced the team's captains for the 2026 season as junior attacker Amelia Logan, junior defender/midfielder Rileigh Baggett, and senior attacker Shea Saracino taking on leadership responsibilities for the Seahawks upcoming campaign.
The Seahawks landed in third for the NEC's 2026 preseason poll, with LIU as the unanimous favorite and Stonehill sitting in second.
After taking on the Dragons, Wagner hosts CAA member Monmouth for an 11 a.m. start on Saturday, Feb. 14 on Hameline Field.
