Women’s Water Polo Names Magali Ogg and Francesca Sena As The 2026 Captains

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Wagner College women's water polo head coach Josh Hower announced that senior attacker Magali Ogg and senior goalkeeper Francesca Sena will serve as team captains for the 2026 season.

The Seahawks will be led by two of the most accomplished student-athletes in program history as they look to defend their position atop the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and build on sustained national success.

Wagner is coming off another standout campaign in 2025, finishing with a 22–9 overall record and an 11–1 mark in MAAC play, capturing its fourth consecutive MAAC Regular Season Championship and earning national recognition with appearances in the CWPA Top 20 throughout the season.

Ogg, a native of Sydney, Australia, enters her senior season after a dominant 2025 campaign in which she tallied 61 goals, earning All-MAAC First Team recognition, and a spot on the MAAC All-Tournament Team. She also collected All-American Honorable Mention, becoming one of the program's most consistent offensive threats and leaders in high-pressure moments.

Sena, hailing from Cosenza, Italy, has anchored the Seahawks' defense throughout her career. In 2025, she recorded more than 160 saves, adding to an already impressive résumé that includes three consecutive All-MAAC First Team selections (2023–25) and MAAC Co-Rookie of the Year honors in 2023.

Both captains just earned preseason All-MAAC Team recognition, with Ogg tabbed MAAC Preseason Player of the Year and Sena selected as MAAC Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year

"Magali and Francesca have set the standard for what it means to represent Wagner women's water polo," said Hower. "Their leadership, competitive drive, and commitment to excellence, both in and out of the pool, make them the ideal captains as we head into the 2026 season."

The Wagner women's water polo program, the most decorated in MAAC history with 12 conference championships, opens the 2026 campaign at the Bruno Classic, where the Seahawks will face Harvard and Bucknell on Saturday before a matchup against Salem on Sunday.
