Bridgeport, PA — The Wagner women's water polo team enters the 2026 season with growing national momentum, as the Seahawks were ranked No. 20 in the 2026 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Women's Varsity Preseason Top 25 poll. The national preseason ranking marks another milestone for Wagner's program and highlights the Seahawks' emergence on the national stage.
The Seahawks capped off a strong 2025 campaign with continued success in both conference and non-conference play. Wagner finished the season with a 22-9 overall record and an 11-1 mark in MAAC play, securing its fourth consecutive MAAC Regular Season Championship and finishing ranked among the nation's top programs.
Wagner's sustained excellence has become a hallmark of the program; the Seahawks were also selected as the 2026 MAAC Water Polo preseason favorite, earning 80 points and eight first-place votes from conference coaches. Two-time defending MAAC champions, Wagner has claimed a MAAC-leading 12 championships since 2003, including nine of the past 11 titles.
Individually, senior attacker
Magali Ogg headlines the preseason honors as the MAAC Preseason Player of the Year, while senior goalkeeper
Francesca Sena earned MAAC Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year for the third straight season. Both players return as leaders and top national performers for the Seahawks.
Wagner's 2026 schedule includes several nationally ranked opponents as well as key MAAC matchups, giving the Seahawks ample opportunity to climb higher in the CWPA poll and build toward postseason success.
