STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Wagner took home three first-place finishes in its first meet of 2026, opening up the year at the Spartan Invite.
The 4x200 relay took first place, with sophomore Mia Petersen, sophomore Christine Manneh, junior Victoria Gontowicz and junior Angel Okafor combining for a 1:46.36 time, half a second ahead of second place Molloy.
Manneh secured a solo win in the 200m dash, running a 25.41 time to finish 0.05 seconds ahead of second place.
Wagner went 1-2 in pole vault, with senior Saranda Capani taking first with a 3.20m clearance to lead the field. Sophomore Nicolina Siracusa came in right behind Capani with a 2.75m clearance.
Petersen finished third in long jump, logging a 5.12m mark on her second attempt of the day. Gontowicz finished sixth with a 4.84m mark. Sophomore Madison Maxwell logged a 4.55m jump to finish 14th, as well as finishing 12th in triple jump with a 9.98m mark.
Freshman Rehanna Syed finished fifth in the 3,000m run with an 11:02.70 time. Junior Victoria Ann Dziubela was another fifth-place finisher for the Seahawks, running a 2:23.38 time in the 800m run.
Okafor went on to place eighth in the 400m run, logging a 1:01.53 time to finish just ahead of senior Angelina Olah, who finished ninth with a 1:01.99 time. Sophomore Jasmine Burney finished 12th with a 1:02.38 time.
Next up, the Seahawks will host the Wagner College Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 17 at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
