The Wagner College women's tennis team kicked off its fall dual match season with a 4-3 win at Monmouth on Friday.
Sophomore
Liepa Sataite and freshman
Alexia Estrada won the first doubles match 6-2, and senior
Samantha Bentsianov and freshman Hannah FitzGerald won the third doubles match to secure the first point of the day.
In singles, both junior
Dariana Vera (6-0, 6-0) and sophomore
Victoria Madail (7-6(4), 6-3) won their matches in straight sets, while FitzGerald (0-6, 6-3, 7-5) erased a one-set deficit and clinched the match for the Seahawks.
Wagner returns to action on Saturday, October 4th against Holy Cross at Flushing Meadows Park. First serve is set for 1pm.
