BINGHAMTON, N.Y. — The Wagner College men's tennis team traveled to Binghamton to participate in the NEC Individuals to begin its 2025 fall slate from Friday, September 19 to Sunday, September 21.
Sophomore Eddie Schmidt and redshirt freshman Lukas Escher competed in the "A" flight of the doubles brackets and won their first two rounds, defeating Mercyhurst's pair 6-4 in the first round, then defeated Saint Francis U's third-ranked pair, 6-1, in the quarterfinals.
Schmidt showed out again in the singles "A" flight, going all the way to the semifinals after defeating FDU's Joshua Oboniye (6-2, 6-4), and Stonehill's Guillermo Bennaton (6-2, 6-4). Sophomore Joshua Zhao also picked up a win in the "E" flight, defeating Stonehill's Mark Kroell (6-3, 6-0).
For their next match, the men's team will host Holy Cross at Flushing Meadows Park in Queens on Saturday, October 4. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
