NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - The Wagner men's water polo team picked up an important non-conference victory on Friday night, defeating Iona 15-11 at the Hynes Center Pool.
The Seahawks started scoring two times in the opening frame.
Smith Connors and
Matan Friedenberg each found the net to give Wagner a 3-2 for the first quarter.
In the second, the Green & White extended their lead with four more goals. Friedenberg added three more goals during this quarter, with the help of Connors adding his second. Wagner was tied 7 – 7 before halftime.
The third quarter proved decisive as the Seahawks' offense erupted for six goals. Connors completed his hat trick, scoring twice more, and

Maayan Nahari,
Matt Wedlock and
Patrick Ray added tallies to give Wagner a commanding 12-10 lead heading into the final frame.
The Seahawks sealed the victory in the fourth with goals from
Ian Conway, Carmon and Connors. Wagner closed out the 15-11 win to improve their record on the young season.
