Men’s Water Polo Announces 2025 Schedule

Staten Island, NY — Wagner College head coach Josh Hower has announced the full 2025 schedule for Seahawks' upcoming campaign.

Playing 27 games against 16 teams this upcoming season, the Seahawks are coming off a 16-18 2024 season where they ended with a 7-6 record in the Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference, finishing in fourth place at the MAWPC Tournament.

The season will begin Saturday, August 30 at the 2025 Bruno Classic, where Wagner will take on LIU and Brown in a pair of games to start the weekend. On Sunday, the Seahawks will have MIT and Harvard to close things out. At the 2024 Bruno Classic, the Seahawks took an opening loss in a 17-8 game against then-No. 15 Harvard before closing out the weekend with three wins over Iona, Air Force and LIU.

On Friday, September 5, the Seahawks will take on Navy to kick off the Princeton Invitational, then on Sunday, September 7, will play a pair of games against LIU and Princeton. In 2024, Wagner played UC San Diego, University of the Pacific and Santa Clara at the Princeton Invitational, taking three losses that weekend.

After the Princeton Invitational, Wagner will then travel to Iona for a Friday, September 12 game against the Gaels. The Seahawks were 1-0 against Iona last season, taking a close 13-12 win on September 12 at the Bruno Classic.

Wagner heads to the Bucknell Invitational on Saturday, September 20, opening with a game against Mercyhurst before returning Sunday, September 21 to take on the hosting Bison. Last season, Wagner was 2-1 at the Bucknell Invite, with wins over Gannon and Mount St. Mary's before ending the trip with a 13-12 loss to Bucknell.

On Saturday, September 27, Wagner will then play Fordham — the Seahawks were 0-3 against the Rams in 2024.

The largest distance the Seahawks will travel in 2025 will be out to Claremont, California for the Gary Troyer Tournament, where they will take on UC Irvine and Concordia on Friday, October 3, before returning Saturday, October 4 to play Pomona-Pitzer and Chapman.

Wagner returns home on Saturday, October 11 to host George Washington. Last season, he Seahawks took a 13-12 loss to the Revolutionaries on September 28, then took another single-goal loss in an 8-7 defeat on November 2 before the season ended with a 15-5 loss to the Revs at the MAWPC Tournament.

A trip to Harvard on Saturday, August 18 for the Harvard Invite has the Seahawks taking on Harvard and MIT, then they return to the pool on August 19 to take on Brown and LIU.

Wagner will host three schools — Mount St. Mary's, Navy and George Washington — across three days on Friday, October 31, Saturday November 1 and Sunday, November 2, respectively. Wagner went a combined 3-4 against those three teams in 2024.

The MAWPC Championships will begin Friday, November 21 and will conclude Sunday, November 23, hosted by Fordham. In 2024, the Seahawks took a 12-9 win over No. 5 Bucknell in the opener before taking a pair of losses to No. 1 Fordham and No. 2 George Washington to finish fourth.
