Cross Country Teams Announce 2025 Meet Schedule

Staten Island, NY — The Wagner College men's and women's cross country teams have announced their 2025 meet schedule. The fall slate features four events prior to the Northeast Conference Championships in November.


The season begins on September 6 in Holmdel, New Jersey as the Stevens Institute of Technology hosts the Back to the Bowl meet at Holmdel Park.

From there, CCSU will host the Ted Owens Invite on September 20 at Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain, Connecticut. In 2024, the men's team finished in third with a combined 86 points in the 8k, while the women put together a 140-point performance in the 5k to finish seventh.

On October 3, Lehigh University will put on the Paul Short Run at the Goodman Cross Country Course in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Last season was the 50th running of the event, with Wagner's men finishing ninth of 38 teams in the 8k division. The women finished seventh of 35 teams in the 6k division.

On October 17, the 1C4A/ECAC Cross Country Championships will be held at Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, New York. The men's team finished in ninth last season with a team score of 226. Wagner's women finished eighth with a combined score of 261.

The 2025 NEC Championships will be hosted by Saint Francis U in at B & D Acre Farms in Tyrone, Pennsylvania. The men's squad won the conference title the last time the meet was hosted by Saint Francis U in 2022. Wagner's men also put up a big performance in last season's championship, finishing in second place with a combined score of 51 points in the 8k to finish behind CCSU. The women's 62-point effort in the 5k earned them third place at the NEC Championships to round out their season.

For the NCAA postseason, Regionals will be held on November 14 in Hopkinton, New Jersey at the Hopkinton State Fairgrounds. Last season, the Wagner men posted a 681 team score to finish 25th of 39 teams in attendance, while the women finished 31st of 42 teams with a combined 847 team score.

The next week on November 22, the NCAA Championships will be held at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia, Missouri.
