BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — Wagner cross country's Rylee Ferretti and Florian Hinry were named NEC Athletes of the Week for their performances at the IC4A/ECAC Championships, the conference office announced on Wednesday.
This is junior Ferretti's third time earning the honor through the three meets she has competed in this season. In Saturday's IC4A/ECAC Championship, she logged a 21:43.80 time in the 6K to finish 19th of 235 runners.
Sophomore Hinry earns Athlete of the Week for the first time this season after running a 25:17.60 8K at the IC4A Championship. Wagner's first finisher, Hinry placed 38th of 225 athletes competing.
Joining Ferretti and Hinry in the NEC's weekly awards is senior Laura Trenado, who earned Prime Performer honors for her 22:07.20 finish in the 6K.
Saturday's IC4A/ECAC Championships were the final regular-season test for the Seahawks. Next up, they have the NEC Championships, held on Saturday, Nov. 1 at B & D Acre Farms. This season's championship will be hosted by Saint Francis U.
