TYRONE, Pa. — Wagner was represented by sophomore Florian Hinry and graduate Justin Morris in the top five on the way to a fifth-place team finish at the NEC Championship.
Wagner earned 143 points as a team to finish fifth, three points behind fourth-place Le Moyne. CCSU repeated its championship effort again this season, finishing with 46 points for first place.
Hinry held with the front pack through three laps of the 8K before CCSU's Mark Rodriguez made his final push for the win, with Hinry ultimately finishing with a 25:54.80 time as Wagner's first finisher.
Graduate Justin Morris was at Hinry's hip through a majority of the race, ultimately finishing fifth with a 26:04.70 time. This was Morris' second consecutive All-NEC performance after he earned the same honor at the 2024 championship.
The next finisher for Wagner was junior Joel Solomon, who ran a 27:08.40 race to finish 26th. Next for the Seahawks was sophomore Ignacio San Juan, who ran a 28:59.70 time and finished 61st. Junior Eric Marquez was the final scorer for Wagner, finishing 66th with a 29:35.80 time. Senior Matthew Seta logged a 31:54.60 time.
Next, the Seahawks will have NCAA Regionals in Hopkinton, New Hampshire at the Hopkinton State Fairgrounds on Friday, Nov. 14.
