STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The Wagner cross country teams are set for their trip to the 2025 NEC Championships.
The races will be held at B & D Acre Farms in Tyrone, Pennsylvania, hosted by Saint Francis U. CCSU enters as the defending NEC Champion on both the men's and women's teams.
Wagner's men were runners up in 2024, but bring a roster of newcomers into the 2025 championship. A major factor for the men's team will be 2024 All-NEC performer, graduate Justin Morris. At last season's championship, Morris ran a 26:12.20 time to finish seventh place and lead the Seahawks.
On the women's side, senior Laura Trenado and junior Rylee Ferretti return after earning All-NEC honors in 2024. Trenado finished fifth with a 17:50.80 time, with Ferretti just behind in sixth place after running a 17:55.50 time. Wagner's women placed third at last season's championship.
Wagner's women last brought home a championship in 1993, while the men are three years removed, most recently winning in 2022. That championship was also held at B & D Acre Farms, with then-freshmen Hunter Longo and Matthew Seta joining then-sophomore Morris as the three Seahawks remaining on the roster from that 2022 championship team.
The men's 8K race will begin at 11 a.m. EST, with the women's 5K following at noon. Live results are available here and the races will stream live on NEC Front Row.
