Philadelphia, Penn. — Wagner track and field rounded out its final meet of the regular season at the Penn Relays over the weekend, the final meet for the Seahawks before the Northeast Conference Outdoor Championships.
Senior Ruth-Ann Chambers ran the 400-meter hurdles with a 59.57 time to finish sixteenth of 37 qualifiers. In the 4x100-meter relay, freshman Christine Manneh, Chambers, senior Janee' Patterson and sophomore June Fernandez finished seventh with a 47.85-second finish. Running the same quartet in a different order, Chambers, Manneh, Fernandez and Patterson also ran a 1:39.40 time in the 4x200-meter relay to finish twelfth.
Senior Gia Comerford ran the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a 10:22.23 time. In the 4x800-meter relay, junior Laura Trenado, Comerford, sophomore Magui Calvo and Angelina Olah ran a combined 8:58.11 to finish sixth.
In the field events, junior Eliza Parazzi logged a 1.60-meter clearance in the high jump. Freshman Mia Petersen posted an 11.47-meter performance in the meet's triple jump.
For the men's side, junior Julio Martinez posted a 4.70-meter clearance in pole vault to place fifteenth. Sophomore Jack Mason, as well as running two relays, had a 6.66-meter long jump that put him in thirteenth place.
This was the final regular season meet of outdoor season before the NEC Outdoor Championships begin May 3 in Easton, Massachusetts, hosted by Stonehill.
