Princeton, NJ - The #19 Wagner Women's water polo team fell to #13 Princeton, 15-7, at DeNunzio Pool on Wednesday night.
The Tigers opened the scoring early, but Wagner sophomore
Catherine Mentz quickly responded, evening the score at 1-1. From there, Princeton took control, closing the first quarter with a 3-1 lead.
They ramped up the intensity in the second, outscoring Wagner 6-1 to head into halftime with a commanding 9-2 advantage.
Wagner showed some fight in the third, but Princeton maintained the upper hand, extending their lead to 12-5.
The Tigers stayed steady in the final frame, sealing the game with a 15-7 victory.
The Seahawks will now turn their focus back to MAAC play as they will receive a bye in the opening round of the 2025 MAAC Championship. Wagner will await the winner of the No. 2 seed from the Blue Division, Iona, and the No. 3 seed from the Red Division, Villanova. That game will take place on Saturday, April 26 at 12:00 PM at McCann Natatorium in Poughkeepsie, NY, hosted by Marist University.
