Edison, NJ – Women's water polo senior attacker Carlota Alonso earned her fourth Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Player of the Week award this season, as announced by the league office today.

Wagner improved to 6-0 in conference play last weekend with three dominant victories, defeating La Salle (25-16), VMI (21-12), and Villanova (17-13).

Last weekend, Carlota Alonso tallied 15 goals and 8 assists. In the win over La Salle, Alonso scored six goals to go with five assists. In the win over VMI, Alonso scored five goals and added two assists and in the win over Villanova, she scored four goals and added one assists. 

Last season, the Seahawks finished a perfect 12-0 in regular-season MAAC play, ultimately defeating Marist 9-8 in the championship game. The Green & White are aiming to repeat as MAAC Champions and capture their ninth title in the past twelve years.

In 2024, Alonso led the nation in total goals scored.

Alonso and the Seahawks will be back in action on Saturday April 5, against LIU and on Sunday April 6, against Siena and Mount St. Mary's. All games will be played at the Pavilion Swim Center in Villanova, PA.
