Syracuse, NY – Wagner men's tennis team suffered a 5-2 defeat to Colgate on Friday night at Drumlins Country Club.

In doubles action, graduate students Carlos Rodriguez Gonzales and Gabriele Zugarelli played strong at the #1 spot, securing a 6-2 win over their opponents. However, the Seahawks lost in the second and third doubles positions, falling 6-2 and 6-3, respectively.

In singles play, Gonzales came through with a 6-1, 6-4 victory at the #1 spot. Freshman Damian Janiszewski also claimed a win at #4 singles, battling to a 6-4, 7-6 victory. Unfortunately, the Raiders took the #2 and #3 singles lines with scores of 6-2 and 6-3.

The Seahawks will next travel to Dewitt, NY to take on Le Moyne on Saturday, March 1st.
