Swimming & Dive Competes In Day Two Of NEC Championship

Geneva, OH - The Wagner swimming and diving program competed in day two of the Northeast Conference (NEC) Championship.

For the women, sophomore Rebekka Luoto had an outstanding performance, securing first place in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:00.83. In the 200-yard freestyle relay, the Seahawks finished in third place, with senior Allie D'Allegro leading the team alongside freshmen Kaylin Lila, Mia Goodale, and Lovisa Ramsten. Additionally, D'Allegro achieved a top-7 finish in the 50-yard freestyle, completing the race in 23.73.

On the men's side, sophomore Nikko Carrillo delivered an impressive first-place finish in the 200-yard IM, clocking in at 1:50.36. Freshman Florian Schumich followed closely behind, taking third place with a time of 1:51.08. In the 50-yard freestyle, graduate Enrico Mancardo earned third place with a time of 20.55, while sophomore Senan Noonan came in sixth at 20.90, and junior Joel Knappi finished in seventh place with a time of 20.94. In the 200-yard freestyle relay, Knappi, Mancardo, Noonan, and sophomore Jose Mancera combined for a third-place finish, completing the race in 1:22.22.

As of now, the women's team is in third place in the standings, while the men's team is in second place.

Both teams will continue their competition at 6:00 pm on Friday.
