Leadership Role
The four captains leading the Seahawks roster for Coach McPartland are senior Kendra Hall, senior Katie Siverson, graduate student Ryan Murphy, and senior Bryn Bockstie.Â
During last year's campaign, Kendra Hall started in all 16 games she appeared in for Wagner. The Liverpool native scored 20 goals while dishing out nine assists, highlighted by two four-goal performances against Merrimack and Stonehill later in the season.Â
Hall represents the frontline of attack while Katie Siverson takes command of the midfield.Â
Being named team captain for the second straight year, Siverson was only able to appear in the last year's season opener against Drexel, where she earned six draw controls, took three shots on goal, caused a turnover, and collected one ground ball.Â
Siverson was named to the All-NEC Second Team during her sophomore year.
The other two-time captain for the Seahawks is Ryan Murphy. The Syracuse native was named to the NEC's first team while being named the conference's Defensive Player of the Week in March.
Murphy finished the season with two goals, a team-high 20 caused turnovers and 74 draw controls during the regular season. Murphy finished the regular season fourth in the NEC with 4.94 draw controls per game and fifth with 1.25 caused turnovers per game.Â
Bryn Bockstie will lead the Green & White's goalkeeping unit for the upcoming campaign. In 2024, Bockstie started 11 out of the 14 games she appeared in for Wagner.Â
Preseason Poll
The Seahawks did not make an appearance in the top-two of the NEC preseason poll for the first time in 11 consecutive seasons.Â
Wagner will look to return to the NEC title game for the ninth time since 2014. Two years ago was the most recent trip to the Championships for the Green & White, as Wagner fell to Sacred Heart 7-6 in the title match.
The Green & White have finished in the top-three of the NEC standings nine out of the last ten seasons.
The reigning champion LIU Sharks earned the top spot while being named unanimous favorites to repeat. Coming in at second is the Stonehill Skyhawks, followed by the Le Moyne Dolphins in third.
After Wagner in fourth the poll wraps up with SFU at fifth, FDU at sixth, CCSU at seventh, Delaware St. at eighth, conference newcomer Mercyhurst at ninth, and Howard wrapping up the poll with the tenth and final spot
