BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — Junior Jack Mason has been named NEC Field Athlete of the Week after his performance at the Seahawk Shootout, the conference office announced on Tuesday.
Mason won long jump at the Seahawk Shootout, logging a 7.33m jump to finish first of 48 athletes competing. In addition to long jump, Mason also ran a 6.98-second 60m dash to finish 12th and ran the opening leg of Wagner's 1:33.04 4x200 relay.
This is Mason's fifth career NEC Field Athlete of the Week honor and he is the conference's reigning Most Outstanding Field Performer for jumps after last season's NEC Indoor Championship.
Alongside Mason in the field events, senior Eskil Njerve was named Prime Performer after winning pole vault at the Seahawk Shootout with a 4.35m clearance, good for second highest in the NEC at this point in the season. Freshman sprinter Noah Grant was also named Prime Performer after setting a new program record in the 60m dash, running a 6.81-second time to finish third.
On the women's side, graduate Ana Blanco Duran earned Prime Performer honors after running a 5:10.00 mile to finish third at the Seahawk Shootout, the second fastest women's mile time in the NEC this season.
Wrapped up for 2025, the Seahawks will resume their schedule in 2026 with the Spartan Invite on Friday, January 9 at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
