LORETTO, Pa. - The Wagner College field hockey team (4-6, 3-2 NEC) fell to NEC member Saint Francis U (8-3, 4-0 NEC) by a score of 3-0 on DeGol Field on Friday afternoon.
The Seahawks took five shots throughout the contest, with three of them on target. Junior Floortje Leunisse, freshman Julia de Leeuw, and freshman Julie Povel were responsible for Wagner's five attempts.Â
In the cage, sophomore Saar van Dalen saved six shots to bring her season total to 52 saves and a 4-6 record.Â
As a team, Wagner earned five corner opportunities with three during the second quarter, compared to Saint Francis U which took six penalty corners.
The Red Flash struck first towards the end of the first quarter and then twice late in the fourth to prevail, 3-0.
Next up, Wagner will host Big East member Quinnipiac on Sunday, October 5. The Seahawks-Bobcats matchup is set for noon at the Wagner College Field Hockey Complex.
