New York, NY & Lewisburg, PA - The Wagner track and field teams competed at the Dr. Sander Invitational at The Armory and the Gulden Invite hosted by Bucknell this past weekend.
At the Dr.Sander Invitational, on the mens side, Junior
Alex Taddeo delivered standout performances, securing second place in the men's 200m dash seeded with an impressive time of 21.66 and finishing seventh in the men's 60m dash seeded with a time of 6.87.
Junior Alrjanvir Singh put up a strong showing in the men's 400m dash seeded, finishing sixth with a time of 49.61.Sophomore
Nigel Boboli showed endurance in the men's 800m open run, crossing the finish line with a time of 1:56.17.
In field events, sophomore
Jack Mason claimed second place in the men's long jump invitational, leaping 7.22m (23-08.25). Junior
Julio Martinez matched this success in the men's pole vault invitational, taking second place with a height of 4.75m (15-07.00).
On the women's side, in women's 200m dash, senior Ruth-Ann Chambers and sophomore June Fernandez tied for eighth place, both clocking a time of 25.29.
Fernandez continued her strong performance in the women's 400m dash, finishing sixth with a time of 57.13, while senior Chambers followed closely in ninth place, clocking 57.67.
At the Gulden Invite, on the mens side, senior Kharlin Watkins had a solid showing in the field events, finishing sixth in the men's high jump with a height of 1.90m (6-02.75). He also placed seventh in the men's long jump, recording a distance of 6.70m (21-11.75). Freshman Ty Lawless followed closely in the men's long jump, securing tenth place with a jump of 6.65m (21-10.00).
For the women, freshman Mia Petersen made an outstanding debut, claiming first place in the women's triple jump with a leap of 11.51m (37-09.25). She also earned second place in the women's long jump, with a distance of 5.42m (17-09.50).
Junior Julia Garcia added to the team's success in the women's triple jump, finishing third with a distance of 11.536m (37-03.25).
On the track, junior Peyton Miller competed in the women's mile, securing ninth place with a time of 5:21.81.
Next week, the Green & White will compete at the John Thomas Terrier Classic hosted by Boston University in Boston, MA.
