Bethlehem, PA – The Wagner College football team suffered its first loss of the young season, as the Seahawks fell 49-13 at Lehigh on Saturday afternoon at Goodman Stadium.
The Seahawks outscored the Mountain Hawks 13-7 in the second half on touchdown receptions by senior
Rickey Spruill and sophomore
Jaylen Bonelli, but it wasn't enough, as both teams even their record at 1-1 on the season.
Lehigh scored 21 points apiece in the first and second quarter to take a 42-0 halftime lead.
Sophomore
Sekou Kamau led Wagner with 55 yards on the ground, while Bonelli was the Seahawks' leading receiver once again with five catches for 54 yards.
Defensively, junior
Sam Martin, sophomore
Colton Guerrero, and senior
Janaasah Boone led the Green and White with five tackles apiece.
Next up, the Seahawks will travel to Delaware State on September 14, with kickoff set for 3:00 pm.
