Box Score Teaneck, NJ - The Wagner women's soccer team dropped its road contest 3-2 to Fairleigh Dickinson on Sunday afternoon.

Wagner tallied seven shots with four on goals compared to FDU's 10 with five on goal. Freshman Anayah Rivera scored a career-high two goals in 61 minutes of action.

Senior Claire Janis recorded an assist to Rivera in this game as well. Rivera and fellow freshman Anna Shepard took two shots on the day while junior Izzy Gomez, senior Olivia Rubbo and sophomore Caroline Kessler each took a shot. 

The Knights opened the scoring with the lone first half goal in the 43rd minute. 

In the second half the Seahawks got on the board as a free kick rebounded and Rivera was in perfect position for the strike in the 61st minute. FDU answered in the 69th minute on a penalty kick and then scored again in the 71st minute to extend their lead 3-1. In the 87th minute, a cross field kick from Janis set up a header for another Rivera goal to bring the Green & White within one, 3-2. The Seahawks were unable to put up another shot in the final minutes and they fell, 3-2. 

The Seahawks will fall to 2-4-5 (1-1-1) and will hit the road for a matchup against NEC newcomer Chicago State (0-9, 0-3) on Thursday, October 3rd.
