Staten Island, NY - The Wagner women's soccer team earned a 0-0 draw against Delaware State on Thursday night at Hameline Field.
The Seahawks put up 27 shots to the Hornets's seven, but couldn't find the back of the net.
Wagner pushed the tempo throughout, resulting in 14 shots on goal and 12 corner kicks. A few close chances in the early minutes of the game spelled trouble for the Hornets, but the Green & White had to settle for a draw.
Sophomore Alana Goldsmith, senior Olivia Rubbo and graduate student Ashley Ladner paced the team with four shots a piece, with Rubbo leading the way with three shots on goal. Junior Izzy Gomez, graduate student Kayla Barbosa and freshman Deirdre Meberg each put up three shots in the draw.
Two games into conference play, the Seahawks sit in a three-way tie for third place with four points. They join LIU and Mercyhurst as the only unbeatens in the conference.
The Seahawks have a huge test ahead in their next contest, which comes on Sunday, September 29 against the top team in the standings, FDU. Kickoff is scheduled for noon in Teaneck, NJ.
