Lewisburg, PA - The Wagner Men's Water Polo teams late game heroics earned them three victories this weekend at the Bucknell Invite.
Game 1 Results: Wagner 16 - Gannon 14
The Seahawks found themselves down 5-4 at the end of the first quarter but two quick goals gave them the 6-5 lead early in the second. Wagner's margin continued to grow as they took a 11-7 lead in the final seconds thanks to a goal from Senior
Kyle Chambers.
The Golden Knights opened the second half with four consecutive goals to tie the game at 11. A goal from Senior
Kristian Stanczewski and a pair from Sophomore
Patrick Ray gave Wagner a three point cushion, 14-11 headed into the final quarter. Freshman
Smith Connors connected with 4:45 remaining and Ray added with another with 3:03 left. Gannon would score three goals in this quarter but Wagner would hold on for the 16-14 invite opening win.

Game 2 Results: Wagner 16 - Mount Saint Mary's 15
Wagner started this game on fire thanks to a trio of unanswered goals from Chambers, Connors and Ray. After that, the Seahawks and the Mountaineers each scored three goals each, to give Wagner the 6-3 lead after the first. The Mountaineers scored two quick goals to bring them within one before freshman Matt Wedlock found the back of the net. MSM would ultimately knot the game at eight a piece but the Seahawks were able to take a 10-9 lead into the break.
Identical to the first half, the Green & White started the second half with three straight goals thanks to two from Stanczewski and Connors. In the fourth quarter the Mountaineers matched another goal from Stanczewski to bring them within three, 15-12. They would go on to score three more unanswered goals to tie the game at 15 with 18 seconds remaining. As time expired, Connors delivered a straight on strike to the back of the net to give the Seahawks the 16-15 win in heroic fashion.

Game 3 Results: Wagner 12 - Bucknell 13
This game foreshadowed to be a battle after the first quarter ended in a 3-3 tie. Senior Mattia Bognolo opened the second quarter with a goal for the Seahawks. The Bison then scored four unanswered goals and ultimately led 8-5 at the half.
Bognolo scored two of his four goals for Wagner in the third quarter but Bucknell took their largest lead of the contest, 11-6, in this quarter and they led 12-8 at the end of three. In the fourth, the Seahawks showed fight. They scored three goals to Bucknell's one goal to bring them within one, 13-12, with 34 seconds remaining. With seven seconds left, freshman Ian Conway made a save to give the Seahawks one final opportunity to send the game into overtime. Wagner's final shot was saved and they fell to Bucknell, 13-12.

Game 4 Results: Wagner 16 - Johns Hopkins 8
The Seahawks defense shut out the Blue Jays, 4-0, in the first quarter with Conway in goal. Johns Hopkins first goal didn't come until 4:31 left in the second quarter. With 2:13 remaining, Stanczewki completed his first half hat trick and the Green & White took an 8-4 lead into the break.
Chambers delivered a strike to begin the second half for Wagner. The Seahawk defense only allowed two points in the quarter. In the fourth, Connors scored his fourth of four goals for the Seahawks 16th point and they prevailed, 16-8.
