Staten Island, NY - Here is a look at the Wagner Athletics events for this week.
Field Hockey
- The Seahawks will travel to Towson for a matchup against the Tigers on Sunday, September 8. That game is scheduled to begin at 1:00 pm.
- Last week, Wagner suffered back-to-back one-point losses to non-conference opponents. Graduate student and transfer Cami Valor scored an equalizing goal against Lehigh while earning one assist against La Salle to lead the Seahawks in total points.
Football
- The Seahawks will travel to Lehigh on Saturday at noon on ESPN+.
- Wagner opened the 2024 season with a 46-7 win over Virginia University of Lynchburg on Saturday afternoon.
- Overall, the Green and White gained 431 all-purpose yards compared to Lynchburg's 139, with 179 of those yards tallied on the ground.
- With Wagner's victory in week one, the Seahawks are 1-0 for the first time since 2018, when the Green and White opened the season with a 40-23 victory over Bowie State.
- Jaylen Bonelli picked up right where he left off, hauling in four catches for 106 receiving yards and two first half touchdowns in the Seahawks' opener.
- Saturday's game marks the second-ever matchup between the two teams, who first met in 2017 in a game that Wagner won 37-20.

Men's Water Polo
- The Seahawks will begin their 2024 season at the Bruno Classic in Cambridge, MA from Saturday September 7th to Sunday September 8th
- Wagner will play Harvard and Iona on Saturday and will conclude with Air Force and LIU on Sunday.
- At last year's Bruno Classic, the Green & White opened up the tournament with a 11-10 win over MIT.
- The Seahawks took fourth at last season's MAWPC Championship Tournament.
Women's Golf
- The Green & White will begin the 2024-25 season at the Bucknell Invitational on Friday, September 6. The three-day event at Bucknell Golf Club in Lewisburg, PA, will conclude on Sunday, September 8.
- The Seahawks return all seven athletes from last season, plus the addition of freshmen Bree Council and Maria Calleja. Head coach Rick Perine returns for his second full season under the helm.
Women's Soccer
- The Seahawks will host NJIT on Thursday, September 5, at 7:00 pm before traveling to Vestal for a matchup against Binghamton on Sunday, September 8 at 1:00 pm.
- Last week, the Seahawks pulled off a come-from-behind draw against Fordham at Hameline Field.
- Sophomore Alana Goldsmith scored the equalizer in the 67th minute before senior Sam Hughes made a tough save on a penalty kick in the 78th minute of play.
