Men's Swimming & Diving Picked Tied For First In NEC Preseason Poll

Bridgewater, NJ - The Wagner men's swimming & diving team was picked in tie for first in the Northeast Conference (NEC) Preseason Poll, the conference announced Thursday.

This is the highest preseason ranking in program history as the Seahawks will enter the 2024-25 season as defending NEC Champions. A huge final day in Geneva, OH, propelled the team to its first ever championship, defeating fellow preseason poll first place pick Howard.

Wagner returns junior Ruben Van Gool, who was a catalyst in the team's final push to a championship in February. He won the 500-yard freestyle and 1650-yard freestyle at the event, continuing his season-long dominance in distance races.

Howard and Wagner tied for first place in the preseason poll, with LIU and Le Moyne following.

The Seahawks will begin their season on Saturday, October 19 when they travel to New Rochelle, NY, to participate in a tri-meet with Iona and Sacred Heart.
