Swimming & Diving To Send Six Swimmers To National Invitational Championship

Ocala, FL - The Wagner swimming & diving program will send six athletes to the National Invitational Championship (NIC) at Florida Aquatics Swimming & Training in Ocala, FL.

Freshmen Jasu Ovaskainen, Manuel Chavez Villalpando and Enrico Mancardo, sophomores Joel Knaapi and Aura Vilarrasa, and fifth year Olivia Bishop qualified for the event and will represent the Seahawks at the national invitational.

"It's a great opportunity to race against some of the best talent in the country and a chance to show off the hard work the kids have put in all year," head coach Colin Shannahan said.

The Seahawks are coming off of a Northeast Conference (NEC) Championship that saw the men capture the top prize for the first time in program history. The women's team finished in third place.

The event will span three days, with the first day of competition beginning on Thursday.
