Syracuse, NY – The Wagner College men's basketball team fell 70-56 at Le Moyne in the final regular season road contest of the year on Thursday night.
With the loss, Wagner falls to 7-8 in Northeast Conference (NEC) play. The Seahawks can finish as high as fourth and as low as sixth in the NEC standings going into Saturday's regular season finale at FDU.
On Thursday, Wagner was led once again by junior
Melvin Council Jr., who led the Green and White with 21 points. Sophomore
Julian Brown was the second Seahawk in double figures with 10 points, while junior
Tyje Kelton finished with a team-high eight rebounds.
Wagner led early on in the contest and only trailed by four points with 2:11 to play in the first half, but a 10-0 run early in the second half was the difference, as the Dolphins pulled away to earn the victory.
Both teams were tied at 41-41 on the glass. Le Moyne converted on 26-59 (44.1%) of shots throughout the contest, while Wagner was limited to 19-63 (30.2%) from the field on the night.
