Track & Field Competes At The Seahawk Shootout

Staten Island, NY - The Wagner men's and women's track & field teams competed at the Seahawk Shootout at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.

On the women's side, junior Laura Trenado led the pack with a first place finish in the 3000m run, clocking in a time of 9:54.89. The Seahawks took four of the top five spots with impressive performances from freshman Rylee Ferretti (9:57.16), senior Gia Comerford (9:57.53), and senior Elizabeth Szambel (10:10.43) in second, third and fifth respectively.

In the 1000m run, sophomore Magui Calvo finished second with a time of 2:58.41. Senior Ruth-Ann Chambers took fourth in the 60m dash with a time of 7.70. The 4x200m team of Chambers, sophomore June Fernandez, and freshman Christine Manneh and Mia Petersen placed third with a time of 1:41.65.

As for the men, sophomore Jack Mason won the long jump with a best jump of 7.25m (23-7.50).  Graduate student placed first in the 1000m run with a time of 2:32.13. Junior Julio Martinez placed third in the pole vault with a height of 4.50m (14-9.25). With a time of 1:30.35 in the 4x200, the squad of juniors Alex Taddeo, and Arjanvir Singh, and sophomore Paride Iacono and Shawn Keegan placed fourth.

The Green & White return to action for the Wagner Invitational on January 3 at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
