Washington, D.C. – The Wagner College men's basketball team fell by a score of 66-41 at Big East member Georgetown on Tuesday night.
Wagner jumped out to an early lead, as a three by senior
Javier Ezquerra gave Wagner a 10-8 advantage seven minutes into the game.
Both teams went back and forth for a majority of the first half, as another Ezquerra three made it 15-14 in favor of the Seahawks with 8:34 to play in the first half.
Wagner's fourth three of the half, the second of the game by senior
Zaire Williams, made it a one-point game at 19-18 with 5:39 to play in the first half, but the Hoyas managed to jump out to a 28-20 lead at the half and pulled away in the second half for the victory.
Ezquerra led Wagner with eight points, while junior
Keyontae Lewis paced the Green and White with eight rebounds on the night.
Wednesday's game also marked the Seahawk debut for graduate student
Churchill Bounds, who had missed the entirety of the 2023-24 season due to injury.
Following the holiday break, Wagner will host Coppin State on December 4 at 7:00 pm at the Spiro Sports Center.
