Men’s Water Polo Earns Fourth Place At The MAWPC Tournament

Annapolis, MD -  The Wagner men's water polo team claimed fourth place in the Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Tournament this weekend at Lejeune Hall.

The tournament began with fourth-seed Wagner defeating the fifth-seed Bucknell 12-9 in the opening round on Friday. On Saturday in the semifinal, the Seahawks fell to the first-seed Fordham 19-11. The Green & White then dropped their final contest 15-5 to the second-seed George Washington to take fourth place overall.

The game began with George Washington jumping out to an early lead, finishing the first quarter ahead 6-1. 

The second quarter saw George Washington outscore the Seahawks 7-1 to take a 13-2 lead into the half.

In the third quarter, Wagner would shut out the Revolutionaries and would tack on two goals courtesy of senior Kyle Chambers and Kristian Stanczewski

The Green & White continued to battle in the fourth quarter, adding one more goal, but they ultimately fell 15-5.

This game concludes the season for the Seahawks as they finish 16-18 overall and 7-6 in conference play as they claim fourth in the MAWPC Tournament.
