Three Seahawks Place In The Top 20 As Women's Bowling Participates In First NEC Meet Of The Season

Binghamton, NY - The Wagner College women's bowling team participated in the first Northeast Conference meet of the season, placing fourth overall across three days of competition. 

The Seahawks went 3-3 in their individual matches and their baker matches, finishing the tournament with a 6-6 record overall.

Their highest overall score came in their baker match against Long Island, totaling 921 pins across five games, an average of 184.2 pins per game.

Also scoring baker wins against Duquesne and Fairleigh Dickinson, the Green and White brought down an average of 175.7 pins per game in baker competition.

In their traditional matches, the Birds defeated Duquesne, Long Island, and Niagara, bringing down an average of 168.3 pins per game.

Junior Samantha McDermott led the way for the Seahawks, totaling 1076 pins in six games, placing 12th individually. 

Not far behind McDermott were fellow upperclassmen, junior Angelia Lubrano and senior Kristina Colon who placed 16th and 17th overall with 1051 and 1041 pins respectively.

The team will now take a break until next year with their next match scheduled for the weekend of January 17-19. The second and final Northeast Conference meet is scheduled for February 14-16 in Altoona, PA.
