South Orange, NJ – The Wagner College men's basketball team suffered a 54-28 defeat at Big East member Seton Hall on Saturday afternoon at Walsh Gymnasium.
With the loss, Wagner falls to 1-3 on the season, while the Pirates even their record at 2-2 on the year.
A layup by junior
Keyontae Lewis and a three by senior
Javier Ezquerra gave the Seahawks an early 5-0 lead, but the Pirates responded and took a 26-14 halftime lead.
Another bucket by Lewis to start the second half trimmed the deficit to 10 at 26-16, before Seton Hall pulled away for the victory.
Ezquerra led Wagner with eight points while senior
Ja'Kair Sanchez added seven points off the bench. Freshman
Zavier Fitch led Wagner with six rebounds on the day.
Next up, Wagner will travel to Boston University on Tuesday, November 19, with tip-off set for 7:00 pm.
