Bridgewater, NJ - Sophomore Rebekka Luoto of the Wagner College women's swimming and diving team earned Northeast Conference (NEC) Swimmer of the Week honors, while freshman Mia Goodale picked up Rookie of the Week accolades, the league announced on Wednesday.
In Wagner's season-opener at Iona, Luoto earned a first-place finish in the 200 IM in 2:07.57. Luoto also won the 500 Free in 5:12.24 and 200 Breast in 2:24.45. All three times marked meet records. At last year's NEC Championship meet, Luoto picked up NEC Co-Outstanding Swimmer and Rookie of the Meet honors.
Goodale won the 200 Free in 1:55.69 and the 100 Free in a meet-record time of 52.86, while also contributing to a win in the 400 Free Relay in 3:36.54.
On the men's side, graduate student Enrico Mancardo, freshman Max Wameling, and junior Ruben Van Gool earned NEC Prime Performer honors.
The Seahawks will be back in action on November 1 at Southern Connecticut State.Â
