Men’s Water Polo Drops Road Contest Against #6 Fordham

Bronx, NY - The #20 Wagner men's water polo team dropped its cross town road contest against MAWPC opponent #6 Fordham Saturday morning.

The undefeated Rams jumped out to an early 3-0 lead before the reigning MAWPC Player of the Week Kyle Chambers got the Seahawks on the board. Fordham would go on to find the back of the net five more times and took a 8-1 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Seahawks were held scoreless in the second period compared to Fordhams three goals as they led 11-1 at the half.

An opening Ram goal early in the third period was quickly matched by senior Kristain Stanczewski. A few seconds later Chambers tacked on another with 6:00 remaining in the quarter. Chambers would score twice more in the period as Fordham led 15-5 at the end of three. In the fourth, Chambers scored his fifth goal of this game with 36 seconds remaining but the Green & White fell short 17-6.

The Seahawks are back in action for the Harvard Invite featuring contest against UC Merced and Mercyhurst on Saturday October 19th and against Chapman and #10 Harvard on Sunday October 20th.
