North Easton, MA - The Wagner College women's basketball team dropped a Northeast Conference (NEC) contest at Stonehill 67-44 on Monday afternoon.
In a close first quarter, the Seahawks were able to outscore the Skyhawks 15-12 behind 7-15 shooting from the field. Junior Semie Brar led the way offensively with five points in the opening 10 minutes.
Out of Stonehill's 18 second quarter points, 12 of them came from beyond the arc as they shot 4-8 from distance in the second quarter and 8-14 in the first half.
Stonehill took a 30-26 advantage into the second half.
The Skyhawks put a stamp on the contest in the third quarter as they outscored the Seahawks 16-5. Wagner shot just 2-12 in the third quarter as Stonehill opened up a 46-31 lead heading to the fourth quarter.
Stonehill outscored Wagner 21-13 in the fourth quarter as they connected on five three-pointers.
The Skyhawks went on to outscore Wagner 37-18 in the second half.
Semie Brar finished with a team-high 14 points while freshman Kiera Edmonds finished with 12 points and seven rebounds.
The loss moves Wagner to 4-11 overall and 1-2 in NEC play.
Wagner will be back in action on Friday, January 19 when they welcome Merrimack to the Spiro Sports Center, tip-off is scheduled for 12:00 pm.
