Field Hockey Set For Home Opener Against Holy Cross

Staten Island, NY - The Wagner College field hockey team will host Holy Cross for its first home game of the season on Friday afternoon.

Last Time Out
Wagner dropped its second consecutive game to start the season as they fell 2-0 at Hofstra on September 1. As a team, the Seahawks had five shots as graduate student Sara Nelson led the way with two for Wagner.

Seahawks Up To Date
Wagner will be seeking its first victory of the 2023 campaign in its home opener. Wagner has nine players that have started all two games so far this season. 
In goal, juniors Sarah Trask and Sam Black have split time as Sam Black started against Lafayette and Sarah Trask started against Hofstra.
In her Wagner debut, Black stopped six shots against Lafayette.

About Holy Cross
The Crusaders enter Grymes Hill with a 1-2 record this season. Holy Cross' lone win of the season came in its opener against Northeast Conference (NEC) member Stonehill as they beat the Skyhawks 1-0 in overtime.
Following its contest with the Seahawks, Holy Cross will play two more NEC members prior to Patriot League play. They will play LIU and Merrimack
