Loretto, PA - The Wagner College field hockey team dropped its Northeast Conference (NEC) opener at Saint Francis U 3-0 on Friday.
In the first quarter, neither team was able to find the back of the net as the Red Flash generated three total shots with one on goal. Sophomore goalkeeper Sam Black stopped the lone shot on target.
The Red Flash broke the deadlock late in the second quarter. The Seahawks generated four penalty corner opportunities as the Red Flash were held to just one. Wagner also outshot Saint Francis U 2-1 in the second frame.
With the Red Flash holding a 1-0 lead entering the third quarter, neither team found the back fo the net before the Red Flash were able to score twice in the fourth quarter to earn a 3-0 win.
Wagner will be back in action on Sunday, October 1 when they welcome Drexel at 12:00 pm.
