Newark, NJ - The Wagner women's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw at NJIT on Sunday afternoon at Lubetkin Field at Mal Simon Stadium,
Graduate student Juliana Rafaniello scored the lone goal for the Seahawks in the 53rd minute. After the Highlanders struck in the first half, Rafaniello dialed up a long left-footed shot to tie the match up. Graduate student Madison Carr assisted on the score.
Rafaniello's three shots, including two shots on goal, led the team. Freshmen Jess Maraia and Taryn Tagtmeir and junior Emma Roe each recorded two shots on the day.
Sophomore Shae McGinty drew the start in today's match before ceding second half duties to junior Sam Hughes. Hughes provided 45 shutout minutes in net, stopping two of the five shots she faced.
This is the second straight draw for the Seahawks as they move to 2-3-2 on the season.
